Yes, Pakistan foreign minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri was present at Mani Shanka’s residence and former prime minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and former vice-president Hamid Ansari did meet him, but that was only during the dinner hosted for Kasuri, which was also attended by many former diplomats and army chief.
Army chief Deepak Kapoor, former foreign minister K Natwar Singh, and former diplomats Salman Haidar, TCA Raghavan, Sharat Sabharwal, K Shankar Bajpai and Chinmaya Gharekhan were among the others which attended the dinner meeting.
The former army chief also confirmed his presence and said nothing more than the India-Pakistan relations was discussed.
When so many people were present at Aiyar’s residence and only to attend a dinner, then how can PM Modi stoop so low as to accuse a former prime minister, a former vice president, and a former MP of sedition.
The accusations are baseless and utterly absurd.
It is beyond imagination to believe such dignified people such as Dr. Manmohan Singh and Hamid Ansari getting involved in a thing as heinous as this.
It is sheer nervousness that is making PM Modi utter such false statements. Anyway, it is fairly established that our PM is given to hyperbole and does not believe in quoting facts.
PM Modi’s words have gone beyond coarseness or low-level rhetoric and only show that he sees democracy as instrumentally useful as a means to power.
This may be BJP’s route to a ‘New India’, but we definitely don’t want live in such an India.
We will have to stop this and bring about a change.
Use your vote rightly and choose your leader wisely, that’s all we can say!
